IACRN NYC Chapter & Rockefeller University Webinar
Conducting Clinical Trials from a Distance: Navigating Decentralized Clinical Trials as a Research Nurse

Tuesday, September 6, 2022
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT

The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted many clinical trials. A side effect of the pandemic has been the swift adoption and acceptance of virtual interactions between subjects and study teams. This shift in clinical trial design is called decentralized clinical trials (DCT). In DCT's patient visits may be virtual and laboratory tests are performed in the patient's community. DCT's provide many diverse opportunities for research nurses but they are not without their challenges. This webinar will explore the differences between a traditional and DCT, identify challenges and opportunities for a CRN with conducting DCT's, and describe the skillset a CRN will need to conduct a DCT's.

Presented by:
Elizabeth Johnson, PhD, MS-CRM, RN
Assistant Professor, Mark & Robyn Jones College of Nursing
Montana State University

Lisa Marsh, MA, BSN, RN
Adjunct Faculty, Northwest University Kirkland, WA
Associate Director, Study Management & Conduct CREA (CNS, Retinopathies, Emerging Areas)
Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
