We are excited to announce details of CRN Certification!

“Certification in a Nursing Specialty demonstrates a commitment to advancing one’s knowledge and skillset. It is official recognition of achievement, expertise, and clinical judgment from the profession and requires continued learning and skill development to maintain” (ANCC, 2010).

CRN-BC credential represents the only nursing specific certification that recognizes expertise as a clinical research nurse. Certification will be earned through completion of a professional portfolio that validates the applicants expert performance in clinical research nursing.

CRN Certification by portfolio is in a fast-paced, dynamic phase of development, to meet the aggressive goal of opening for applications early 2021. Every effort is being made to support those interested in CRN Certification, by posting information, guidance documents, and forms as soon any become available. It is our hope that this decision will assist those wishing to begin development of their portfolio and collecting supporting documents to undertake this endeavor as early as possible. Please check back often; the volunteer workgroup will continue to post guidance documents to assist in your preparation.

A mechanism for submissions will be posted on this website when the CRN Certification Council (CRNCC) is open to receive applications, a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the submission deadline. Please watch for this announcement.
