Hello fellow colleagues,

I am inquiring as to the possibility of age related competencies within clinical research established by NIH.  Does such exist?  As one of two trainers in clinical research education, I am challenged with creating age related competiencies in a comprehensive cancer translational research center for outpatient clinic areas, that satisfy Joint commission requirements.  I welcome any/all comments/input.

I don't see how study coordinator age would be relevant.

There are some data on recruitment and treatment issues related to age group.  I will look for those and be glad to share them with you.

You are corrrect in assuming that I was speaking about patient age related competencies.  In the acute care settings, Joint commisssion requires professional orientation to include identification of age related competency skills for patient care.  The Joint commission is starting to address these same items in outpatient clinical areas.  I am trying to find clinical research related "age specific" criteria.  I definitely would welcome any and all information on recruitment, and treatment.  Additionally, are these items in current practice and does any include informed consent?
