We are looking at revising our current policy that houses statements about central labs (other than PK/PD etc). The protocols we have with central labs are either very vague or contradictory. How does your institutions handle central labs?
1. Do you draw them locally for patient safety since results wont be back in time for treatment. Do you do some locally depending on what the MD wants? Do you bring the patients in a different day for labs to ensure central lab results are available?
2. When the central lab results come back are they reviewed and compared to the local labs used for treatment decisions? By the site or the sponsor?
Any information would be helpful!
